About Ms. Ecker & Ms. Edwards

About Ms. Ecker:

Ms. Amity Ecker has been the Theatre Arts teacher and director at Grossmont
High School since 2002. With the help of her fantastic students, she has successfully closed 14 marvelous shows and is excited to put up at least 14 more! Ms. Ecker feels fortunate that she is able to share her passion for theatre with so many wonderful young people everyday.

Ms. Ecker is the proud recipient of the coveted Golden Apple award and was named San Diego County’s Rookie of the Year by the San Diego Educational Theatre Association. She earned her undergraduate degree from USD and is currently working on her thesis for her Master of Arts degree in Theatre Arts at San Diego State University, planing to finish by Fall 2009 (fingers crossed!).

When not teaching, directing, or going to school, she enjoys traveling extensively around the world to exotic locales like Turkey, Greece, Tahiti, Belize, Honduras, and many more. She loves to go SCUBA diving in these wonderful places with her supportive husband, Jeremy.

They also have a recent addition to their family, Ava Marie, who was born on April 29, 2008!!
